Colson Whitehead: Harlem Shuffle

Two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning author Colson Whitehead arrives in Melbourne to take readers on a journey through the bygone eras that inspired his new Harlem Trilogy.

Join us at The Capitol on Wednesday 24 May for an unforgettable evening with Colson Whitehead, one of the most celebrated authors of our time. With two Pulitzer Prizes for Fiction under his belt and a string of bestsellers, Whitehead has captured the minds and hearts of readers worldwide with his thought-provoking and beautifully crafted novels.

Listen to Whitehead take us on a journey through the world of Harlem Shuffle, the first book in his new Harlem Trilogy. Whitehead will be joined on stage in conversation with journalist and filmmaker Santilla Chingaipe.

The event is presented in collaboration with The Wheeler’s Centre’s World of Words series and promises to immerse Melbourne audiences in the rich and complex universe of Whitehead’s latest work.

Colson Whitehead is the author of bestsellers such as The Nickle Boys and The Underground Railroad. Colson is one of only four writers to have won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction twice. His latest novel, Harlem Shuffle, is the first book in a genre-bending family saga that incorporates elements of crime, morality, social commentary, and a tribute to Harlem.
