Writing the Future

Learn how non-realist writing has the potential to imagine other worlds and other realities.

Join us for a panel discussion with speculative fiction writers RMIT alumnus Kate Mildenhall (Skylarking, The Mother Fault), Senior Lecturer Rose Michael (The Asking Game, The Art of Navigation), Eugen Bacon (Road to Woop Woop, Danged Black Thing) and winner of the inaugural Speculate Prize, RMIT PhD candidate Dominic Amerena.

Together they will explore the expansive possibilities of literature in the context of our rapidly changing world, and discuss how non-realist writing has the potential to imagine other worlds and other realities, as well as better, understand our own.

This RMIT Culture Salon celebrates the inaugural Speculate Prize and is presented in partnership with Giramondo Publishing and RMIT Writing & Publishing, sponsored by Whispir and supported by the Speculate Literary Festival.
